Arsenal summer signing Fabio Vieira scored his first goal for the Gunners in the 3-0 win over Brentford last weekend.
Vieira made his first start under Mikel Arteta in the 2-1 win over FC Zurich as Arsenal began their Europa League group stage campaign with an impressive away win. The Portuguese playmaker was crucial to the Gunners' victory, playing a brilliant ball through for Eddie Nketiah before the young forward provided an assist for Marquinhos to score the opener.
But the 22-year-old endured a slow start to life with Arsenal after picking up a foot injury whilst on international duty with Portugal under-21s after completing his £34million move from Porto. Mikel Arteta was rewarded for starting Vieira against the Bees last weekend as the young midfielder scored a brilliant goal from range to send the Gunners fans wild singing his song.

Vieira will be hoping he can continue to put in impressive performances following the international break, with Arsenal set to play nine fixtures inside the month of October. Speaking to ESPN Brazil, via Sport Witness, following the win over Brentford, Vieira discussed his start with the Gunners, the fans and where he wants to improve.
The 22-year-old said: “Obviously it [his goal] was very good for me as I arrived here injured, unfortunately. I had some time sidelined.
"Returning to competition costs a little bit, but step by step, I trained, evolved and grew. Now I’m here, I scored the first goal and I’m very happy about it."
Vieira spoke about the affection he’s been getting from Arsenal fans, after they adapted the chant once sang for Patrick Vieira for the Portuguese midfielder, along with where he feels he can improve. The 22-year-old added: “It’s really good to hear that [his chant]. It’s a sign that the fans are liking me and what I am as a player. Feeling their support is fantastic.
Speaking alongside teammate Gabriel Martinelli, Vieira also revealed how the Brazilian, who also speaks Portuguese, has been helping him learn English and settle into life in London.
“I need to improve my English and he helps me a lot with the language. Having Brazilians and Portuguese in the team helped me. It’s people that speak the same language. I don’t know much English, but I’m learning and with their help, it’s getting easier.”
