Arsenal target Fabian Ruiz has reportedly rejected a new contract at Napoli ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are looking to sign a central midfielder this summer, football.london understands, and the likes of Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves have both been linked with a move to join Mikel Arteta's men in recent times. Another name that has been mooted as a potential target is Spanish international Ruiz, who has established himself as one of Serie A's best midfielders in the last few years.
Now, Il Mattino via GIFN, have reported that Napoli's latest contract offer for Ruiz has been rejected. The player has just over 13 months left on his current deal with Luciano Spalletti's side, which could potentially mean a summer exit makes the most sense for the Partenopei.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the 25-year-old, who is valued between €20million and €30million (£17million-£25million) by CIES Football Observatory and the player has previously admitted a return to La Liga could be attractive. "It’s flattering to hear about these clubs' interest in me, that's for sure," he said earlier this year when asked about reported interest from the two La Liga sides.
"Right now, I only think of Napoli, I am very comfortable here and we have big challenges ahead. The idea of returning to Spain in the future is always present: it is my home."
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport previously reported that Newcastle United offered just under €50million (£41.9million) for Ruiz in January but he is reportedly not interested in a move to St James' Park.
