The Football Association is set to investigate alleged incidents of homophobic chanting by Manchester City supporters during the FA Cup third round victory over Chelsea on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola's side booked their place in the fourth round with an emphatic 4-0 win over Chelsea thanks to two goals from Riyad Mahrez, with Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden also getting on the scoresheet. But it has been alleged that chanting occurred in the second half of the game at the Etihad Stadium.
It comes just two days after the FA revealed that it was investigating homophobic chanting which was heard during Manchester United's 3-1 FA Cup victory over Everton on Friday. It is understood that the chant was aimed towards Toffees boss Frank Lampard and referred to his time as a player and manager of Chelsea.
