The FA Cup third round marks the entrance of the 20 Premier League sides and 24 Championship clubs after eight previous draws. Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham will all be watching tonight's draw with an eagle-eye as they learn their first opponents of the competition.
The Gunners were victims of an early cup shock last season when they fell to a 1-0 defeat to now-Premier League side Nottingham Forest in January. Their north London rivals Spurs were themselves involved in a surprise defeat in the fifth round when Championship side Middlesbrough dramatically won 1-0 in extra time.
Chelsea suffered a successive final defeat at Wembley in May, losing on penalties to Liverpool for a second time in the space of three months after a 0-0 draw.
