Max Verstappen will start the Monaco Grand Prix on pole as he looks to further cement his position at the top of the Formula One standings.

The Dutchman edged out Fernando Alonso with the final lap of the qualifying session, while Charles Leclerc has been demoted to sixth on the grid despite posted the third-fastest time, after he was deemed to have impeded McLaren’s Lando Norris in the tunnel.
