Max Verstappen remained 38 points clear atop the 2022 F1 Drivers’ Championship after coming second in the Austrian Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc’s victory at Red Bull Ring saw him jump Sergio Perez in the standings and land the same distance behind Verstappen that Perez had after Saturday’s Sprint.
Both Perez and Sainz retired in Spielberg to leave them well off the pace of a late title tilt.
Lewis Hamilton finished third ahead of George Russell while Esteban Ocon, Daniel Ricciardo and Mick Schumacher moved up with points finishes.
