Britain's record-breaking heatwave is nearing its end, despite an amber warning for extreme heat being extended across the East and South East until 9am on Sunday.
The Met Office confirmed three consecutive days of record temperatures, peaking provisionally at 37.3C in Santon Downham, Suffolk, on Friday.
