A £73m project to build a multi-purpose events centre in Southport could be given almost £18m in extra funding next week.
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is to vote on whether to approve the £17.7m cash injection for the new Marine Lake Events Centre, which would include a 1,500-capacity theatre as well as exhibition and conference facilities.
That funding would be on top of £2.3m already committed to pre-development work.
