Explosives thrown near Mamdani’s home investigated as ‘ISIS-inspired terrorism’

The improvised explosive devices that were thrown near New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s home on Saturday are being investigated as an act of “ISIS-inspired terrorism,” NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Monday.

The devices, which didn’t explode, were thrown during sparsely attended counterprotests near Gracie Mansion during a “Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City” event led by the far-right activist Jake Lang.
