And as much as we all love a good shopping trip to refresh the wardrobe, we all know that it can be as expensive as it can be exciting. Add on the current rising cost of living crisis, and shopping for new clothes might be a luxury that a few of us simply can't afford right now.
Which is exactly why one consumer expert has come to the rescue of cash-strapped fashionistas with a savvy and simple trick that can save you up to a whopping £450 on a new summer wardrobe. The Trick? Don't pay full price when you head to some of the high-street's biggest sales.
It might sound like an age old trick, but multiple high-street and online retailers are currently running massive summer sales with quite a bit of savings to be made. Which is good news for anyone looking to nab some holiday essentials for much less this year.
Tom Church, co-founder of the money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk recently did some digging and has now shared with shoppers what he believes are the best summer sales that they can take advantage off.
He said: "This summer is particularly hot, so it makes sense to take advantage of the sales and pick up some lighter garments. That said, some sales only offer tiny savings, so it’s worth doing your research first. I’ve found the best summer sales out there, with my top picks of the best bargains to help you get more bang for your buck."
From Next and New Look to Boohoo, here is all the summer sales that helped Tom pick up £800 worth of products for as little as £350.
New Look - 40% sale on summer dresses
One of the high-street's biggest fashion chains are currently running a 40% sale on summer dresses in store and online. For example, this black square neck midi dress is selling fast, reduced from £27.99 to £16.79. Plus, you can get £10 off this pink strappy floral mini dress, £14.99 reduced from £24.99. Another bestseller is a floral green maxi dress - flower patterns seem to be popular this summer - for just £17.99 instead of £29.99.
Boohoo - up to 70% off
If you're in need of a new skirt for the summer, then look no further than Boohoo's massive 70% sale that is available right now. For example, this satin ruched mini skirt for £5.60, reduced from £18, is a good deal. An even further discount they are offering is this pleated mini skirt for £4 instead of £18, which is 78% off! Tom also managed to find this marble print cut-out skirt which is just £2.40 instead of £12 - that’s less than a McDonald’s burger!
ASOS - 80% off select sandals
ASOS is one of the best places for nabbing some shoes for less this summer, with Tom finding quite a few pairs that were up to 80% off. He found the night out worthy wide-fit strappy heeled sandals for 50% off, £12.50 instead of £25. Alternatively, you could pick up these clear wide-fit heeled mules for £11.25, 55% off their original price of £25. A more laid-back option can be found with these blue slip-on flat sandals - an incredible saving is on offer here, as the RRP is £85 but they’re reduced to just £22.50!
Next - 50% off jeans
The boyfriend jean is the perfect style for summer as it is casual and comfortable. Fortunately, Next has some great deals available right now thanks to their summer sale. They’re offering at least 50% off selected items, and you can browse high quality jeans at discounted prices. For example, their Baggy Own Low Rise Baggy Boyfriend Jeans are currently £20, reduced from £50, and their Mid Blue Emma Willis Boyfriend Jeans are only £19 following an original price of £48. Plus, the Boyfriend Replay Marty Boyfriend Fit Jeans are reduced from £125 to £47!
John Lewis - Get £320 In Tote Bags For Only £170
Tote bags are the new 'it' bag for summer and, luckily, John Lewis has quite a few up for grabs in their Reduced To Clear sale. Tom found a Blanche Logo Mesh Tote Bag reduced twice, from £49.90 down to £24 and then again to £19, so grab this deal while it’s still hot. There is also this Radley Silk Street Large Leather Tote Bag in black reduced from £199 to £94. If you’re looking for the convenience factor then check out this Ted Baker Resmay Foldaway Tote Bag in pale pink, reduced from £70 to £42 and then £35. Buying these three bags in the sale would net you £318.90 worth of products for only £148 - that’s a saving of £170.90!
