Some of the world’s leading manufacturers of offshore wind and maritime personal protective equipment will collaborate in Hull next week.
Expanding specialist ComtecInt is joining forces with training provider HOTA to showcase suppliers, while they use it as an opportunity to gain feedback and inform future development.
Seven years on from launching the UK division of the Danish operator in the city, Jonathan Isaac has just moved premises to cope with demand - having secured the likes of Orsted, Vestas and RWE as clients.

He is now at the helm of an eight-strong team, having started solo back in 2015.
Mr Isaac said that the idea was to help people understand the range of highly specialist products available to protect staff working in hostile offshore environments.
“This is not a sales pitch and is obligation free,” he said. “It is a unique opportunity to see the breadth of innovative solutions for the offshore wind and maritime sectors all in one place.
“As a re-supplier, I see this event as being beneficial to my customers and the manufacturers. It provides a clear opportunity to discuss past experiences and requirements and will contribute to informing the next generation of niche products which could take safety to the next level.”
Settling in at Chamberlain Road Business Park, the company had previously operated from Ferries Street, off Hedon Road.
It now offers bespoke services to the offshore wind sector, covering both supply and testing of safety wear products as well as branded online web shops to manage supply of workwear and PPE.
He said: “We had taken on more staff and needed a bigger office and more space. We specifically needed more warehouse space to provide modern functionality.”
The free event will take place at HOTA’s world class training facilities on Malmo Road, on Thursday, June 30, from 10am until 3pm, with outdoor demonstrations of PPE starting at 11am.
Karen Shepherd, chief executive at HOTA, said: “We have worked with ComtecInt for many years and the last Meet the Manufacturer event in 2019 was a huge success. This latest event will showcase our excellent training facilities to top personnel of renewables organisations.”
Manufacturers taking part include Mascot, Bolle, Tranemo, Blaklader, Sievi, Petzl, Ejendals, Skylotec, Aerohealthcare, KASK, Ergodyne, 3M, Tusk, Heightec, Ursuit/Mullion, Spinlock, DMM, Rockfall, Kansas Fristads, Torque Solutions, Ruth Lee, Talking Headsets, Marlow Rope, Ferno and Cresto.
Products showcased will include clothing, life jackets, boots and shoes, glasses, helmets, headsets, training manikins, first aid, harnesses and equipment for working at height.
People interested in booking a place at the event should email Mr Isaac.
