Ex-White offers verdict on 23-goal Leeds United 'threat' after Everton draw

Pundits Jermaine Beckford and Joleon Lescott have offered their early verdicts on Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra after the Columbian scored his first Premier League goal for the Whites against Everton in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old was handed his full league debut by manager Jesse Marsch against the Toffees, with his only other start for the club coming in the 3-1 League Cup second round win against Barnsley, in which the wide man also scored.

Having joined from Feyenoord for around £21million in July, it's been a slow start to life in Yorkshire for Sinisterra having suffered an injury during pre-season but Leeds supporters will now hopefully start to see the best of their summer signing who former player Beckford rates already.

"This is somebody that got 23 goals last season," Beckford said on BT Sport, "and someone that got 14 assists last season, so he knows where the back of the net of is, he knows how to create chances.

"But I am really pleased for him because he has had a difficult start to his Leeds United career with getting injured at the start of pre-season that stopped his progress but you can see the confidence he plays with every time he picks the ball up. He looked a threat and for his goal he managed to catch Jordan Pickford out."

Beckford's fellow pundit Lescott also praised the 23-year-old's early impact, adding: "It was a brave decision to make that change, it was interesting to see what talent he possesses and you saw glimpses of it tonight having not had a consistent rhythm in pre-season but he can produce more moments like that Jesse Marsch will be pleased."
