Despite Bury Southend MP Christian Wakeford having only won his Conservative Party 'Red Wall' seat in 2019, the Tory MP has now defected to Labour.
Boris Johnson has recently been urged by members of his own party, in letters of no confidence, to resign from his role following details about a string of Downing Street parties.
Just moments before the Prime Minister was due to take the floor for Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Wakeford wrote a letter to Mr Johnson, slamming his leadership and resigning from the Conservative Party.
