Ex-Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher says he would have been 'very surprised' if Leeds United had been given a penalty against Southampton.
Patrick Bamford went down inside the Saints' box under a challenge from Jan Bednarek during the second half at Elland Road. Referee Peter Bankes overlooked Leeds' claims for a penalty and Gallagher believes both the on-field officials and VAR officials came to the correct decision.
"I think this isn't a foul. There's physical contact but who contacts who? I'd have been very surprised if the referee had pointed to the spot for this," Gallagher told Sky Sports' Ref Watch.
