Former Premier League Alex McLeish manager has said that Roberto Firmino may want to move on from Liverpool at the end of the season given the way the club are using Sadio Mane.
Firmino has only played 18 Premier League games this season having missed parts of the season due to injury. A focal point in the Reds side which won the Premier League title in 2020 and the UEFA Champions League 12 months earlier, Jurgen Klopp's team have had to adapt and move players around.
Diogo Jota has stepped up with goals and assists while Mane has moved centrally with Luis Diaz's arrival in the January transfer window easing the burden on the attackers already at the club. With 12 months on left on his contract at the end of the season, the Brazilian and his club have big decisions to make.

McLeish believes that the 30-year-old still has a role to play with the Reds and is part of the reason the team not only clinched the Carabao Cup but also on course to win three more major trophies. However, the choice of where Firmino plays football next season is ultimately up to the striker.
“I think he’s still making an impact. You see him in games coming on and getting a couple of goals and assists. He’s still, I think, very integral to their success this season," McLeish told Football Insider .
“Like everybody else, he will want to maybe play more football at the end. Who knows, maybe it suits him, the way it is just now. One thing’s for sure, Liverpool are a great club and will do the right thing by their players.
“They will do whatever Firmino wants to do, I would think. Maybe keep him on and keep doing his cameo. Or does the guy want to play more football? I think that would be in Firmino’s hands.”
