Ex-Michigan Wolverines Players Erupt On Social Media to Celebrate National Championship

Michigan is back on top of the college football world.

For the first time since the 1997 season, the Wolverines are national champions, by virtue of their 34–13 victory over Washington in Houston on Monday night.

It was a long wait between titles for the Wolverines faithful, and fans took to the streets of Ann Arbor to celebrate after the outcome became official.

As J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, Mike Sainristil and others etched their names into the school’s history books, Wolverines players of years past took to social media to virtually puff out their chests and commemorate Michigan’s championship.

Here are some of the best reactions:

The Wolverines will open defense of the national championship against Fresno State on Aug. 31 in Ann Arbor. Also on next season’s schedule is a delicious rematch against Washington in Seattle on Oct. 5.

The 144th iteration of Michigan football will go down as one of the greatest teams in Wolverines history, and it’s clear the program’s alums have enjoyed the ride all season.
