A former Emmerdale and Coronation Street actor is said to be so skint that he hasn't got ‘a pot to p**s in’ after he was axed from both soaps.
Reece Dinsdale played Weatherfield villain Joe McIntyre in Coronation Street in 2008, and then went on to play Vinny Dingle’s abusive father Paul Ashdale on Emmerdale from 2020, writes The Mirror.
The actor has also starred in other shows including Waterloo Road and Life on Mars, as well as returning to the ITV soaps in a directing capacity. However, Reece has now told fans he is far from living a ‘lavish lifestyle’ and has been left low on funds after departing both the ITV soaps.
He recently splashed out on a motorhome in order to travel around the country and took to Twitter to share the news.
Posting a photo of the vehicle with a gorgeous back drop of the lake and mountain, he explained: “We don’t live a lavish lifestyle… far from it. Today I invested all my savings into my dream machine. Not got a pot left to p**s in… but the dreams are now endless!”
Many fans flocked to the comments to wish him well.
One said: “Amazing… enjoy every minute!” Another added: “Wow, that’s amazing!” While another penned: “Worth every penny fella!”
Reece recently returned to Emmerdale but this time behind the camera as a director for several hour-long specials. He said he is ‘very proud’ of his work.
He tweeted: “I’m off to try to get some kip. Start shooting a new block of Emmerdale early tomorrow. No matter how many times you do it, you’re always a little nervous & apprehensive for your first day. I guess it’s a good thing. The day I don’t feel that… will be the day I give it up.”
He later added: “For those of you who enjoy your Emmerdale, you might be interested to hear that the two one hour episodes that I recently directed will be shown on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. I’m very proud of them. Hope you enjoy!”
