Maik Nawrocki has suffered a devastating ACL injury just two months after completing his summer transfer exit from Celtic.
The centre back left Parkhead permanently for French side Lens in July, after spending last season on loan in Germany with Hannover 96.
The Ligue 1 outfit paid around €2.5 million (£2.15m) to take the 25-year-old to France but will now be without the Polish defender's services for most of the season, if not all.

Nawrocki came off after 62 minutes of the defeat to Strasbourg at the weekend and his club has now confirmed the injury is an ACL.
A statement on social media said: "Hang in there, Maik.
"Seriously injured, Maik Nawrocki is suffering from a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery.
"The entire club stands by its defender and sends him its best wishes for a speedy recovery."
