Ex-Celtic kid Ben Doak 'set for' Liverpool loan exit

Top Scotland prospect Ben Doak looks set to leave Liverpool on loan this summer, according to reports.

The 18-year-old has a handful of first-team appearances under his belt for the Reds, but it seems Arne Slot will allow the teenager to gain some more vital minutes to aid in his development.

The ex-Celtic kid burst onto the scene in the cup competitions last season, while he also earned a substitute outing in the Premier League against Aston Villa.

The Ayrshire-lad was called into Steve Clarke's Scotland squad for Euro 2024 this summer, but he later had to withdraw through injury.

Football Scotland says Liverpool will allow him to gain more first-team experience on loan away from Anfield this season.

Among the interested clubs are Premier League sides Southampton, Leicester City and Brentford.

Doak left Celtic in 2022 after making his Scottish Premiership debut against Rangers aged just 16.

A decision has yet to be made by Doak and his camp about his future in the year ahead, but it's increasingly likely he'll not be featuring for Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Brighton have entered talks with Celtic over a deal for Matt O'Riley, according to a report.

Sky Sports says the clubs are in negotiation over the possible transfer of the Denmark international.

The Scottish Premiership giants have already rejected three offers from Serie A side Atalanta this summer.

Now, it seems Brighton are looking to steal the march in the race to sign the 23-year-old.

The same report claims that O'Riley is on the radar of a number of clubs, including Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge club are looking for possible replacements for Conor Gallagher as he looks set to complete his move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
