A vile mother and her boyfriend who brutally tortured and murdered her 15-year-old for "weeks if not months" have been put behind bars for life. Mum, Agnieszka Kalinowska and boyfriend Andrzej Latoszewski ruthlessly abused her helpless son Sebastian Kalinowski before he passed away in August 2021.
The sickening physical acts included stabbing him with a needle, hitting him with a slat from a bed, whipping him with an extension cable as well and punching and kicking him, the Daily Star reports. Innocent, Sebastian died at his home in Huddersfield from his horrific injuries and '"untreated complications of multiple rib fractures".
The sickening pair will now both spend a minimum of 39 years in prison after being trialled at Liverpool Crown Court. Mrs Justice Lambert said during sentencing: “You, Latoszewski, are a bully.
“Like all bullies, you sought to intimidate and frighten Sebastian, who was weaker than you. In Sebastian you found an easy prey.
“There were times when viewing the footage I was sure you had lost awareness of the fact that you were hitting a human being and not a punching bag." Addressing the victim's mother, the judge said: “As for you, Kalinowska, the explanation is simple, you just didn’t care about Sebastian.
''You were only interested in yourself.” The evil couple both denied killing Sebastian when they were first arrested by police in connection with the 15-year-old's death.
During the arrest, officers took CCTV cameras from their home, which prosecutors claimed had been put in place to "monitor and exert control over Sebastian remotely". The jury at Leeds Crown Court found the couple guilty in July after they watched "horrifying" footage taken from the cameras which exposed the two adults continuously punching and kicking Sebastian on several occasions.
The wicked pair even stamped on him and used an extension cable to whip the youngster. Prosecutor Jason Pitter QC had previously told the court that the teenager suffered "weeks, if not months of terrible, cruel, systematic assaults and ill-treatment, neglect and abuse".
Sebastian who had previously been living in his native country of Poland with his father, moved to England less than a year before the bombardment of physical abuse began. His remorseless mother and step dad said he deserved to be beat up for lying and not attending his North Huddersfield Trust school where staff described the boy as a "model pupil", the court heard.
The jury also heard Latoszewski proposed to Kalinowska while in prison and Sebastian's mother had written a "very long letter" to her partner and failed to mention that she had a young son. "You told him you would marry him.
''Your only real worry about what had happened to your cat after your arrest," Justice Lambert added. In this very long letter there was not one word about your son Sebastian, his death and the loss of his life."
