Everyone’s new obsession should be this Hulu reality show

A new reality show is hard to dive into. Often times, the lore is too great or there are too many seasons to catch up on. With shows like The Real Housewives franchise hitting the 15th season marks (with multiple shows all running), it is a lot. But that’s why The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is such a fun new adventure.

The series is based around the women of Utah who started “MomTok.” Taylor Frankie Paul blew the internet up by revealing that she was part of a swingers group of Mormon couples that were all apart of the “MomTok” phenomenon. It kicked off when Whitney Leavitt went viral for dancing about her baby testing positive for RSV and the rest is Mormon history.

What makes this show so addicting to watch is the fact that every single episode drops unhinged lore about each of these women. The show starts with Paul’s live video about the swinging scandal. Then it goes onto explore Leavitt’s husband and his Tinder account. From there, it really is a “who is lying to who” situation and every new reveal is more fascinating than the last.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, unlike the Bravo shows before it, is less about the women all fighting with each other and more about what they’re willing to ignore in order to look like “good Mormons” in the eyes of everyone else. There are the sinners (the women with tattoos who drink and are Mormon but not as practicing as the others) and then there are the saints, the good Mormon women.

That divide really makes the show fascinating to watch on its own. Add in the interpersonal drama and a lot of back and forth over how TikTok views them and this is a perfect show to binge this holiday season.
