You must be happy with that performance
I’m very happy for two reasons. One because I saw a team with a lot of courage, determination, quality and that really wanted it today to come here and win. And the other one where we have a job where we are really privileged to make people happy and when you have this opportunity you have to really try and do it. So the enjoyment and sharing the victory with our fans it was a great feeling and all the suffering that we do it makes a lot of sense in moments like this.
It must give the players a huge boost
It’s great and going in the dressing room and just feeling the joy and the togetherness around the team and how much it meant for them is special. We know that we are here because of the way we play and the way that we are and the way that we live together and the unity that we have. We must not forget that because tomorrow we have to do the same and we have to do exactly the same to carry on the form that we have at the moment.
What did you make of the Aaron Ramsdale incident at the end?
I haven’t seen anything. What I’ve seen is a beautiful game of football.

Aaron was kicked in the head by a fan…
Aaron had some great saves and I love that because you need that to win here.
What are your views on Odegaard’s display?
Ah, terrific. Especially the first half I think he was incredible. He’s really showing a different kind of presence in the way he's influencing the game, just the feeling, the way he moves what he transmits on the pitch is different. To do what he’s done here today, big credit to him.
It must be concerning that a fan can get to your players so easily…
We will deal with that. There’s nothing we can do right now. I don’t want that taking 0.0001% of the enjoyment and satisfaction that we have at this moment. We will deal with that tomorrow.
Sometimes victories can be more than three points psychologically. Is this one of those occasions?
Psychologically and emotionally. This obviously has a big emotional attachment because obviously there is a big history between the two clubs and it means so much for our people to win this game.
Is it your title to lose now with an eight-point lead?
It’s a great position to be in. Let’s enjoy the moment and keep focusing. The enjoyment is going to come if we keep focusing on what we have to do.
What’s your reaction to Mudryk joining Chelsea?
We have excellent players and we want to improve our squad in this transfer window – when I say we I mean, myself, the coaching staff, the staff players, the board and the ownership – we all want to do that. But we will do the deals we can do and the ones we feel are right for the club.
Does it make a difference having Partey and Saliba as opposed to last time?
I think things change, players change, whether we play with 11 players as well is different in football. That day (in May) was difficult and we learnt some lessons. I think it brought the team and the club closer together in general. So probably it was necessary to have the enjoyment that we had today.
You were pointing to your head a lot. Did you feel keeping calm was important?
Yeah, to have the emotional control in these occasions is extremely important. It’s something that we discussed in the week. They are young and they start to believe more and more and they start to have these experiences. There is nothing better than winning and playing the way we played.
How hard is it to shut out talk about the gap between you and City?
The only thing we can do is try to play better and focus on what we’re doing well. As well the team is out there and we’ve done things in a great way but there are still a lot of things to improve. We know that and we’re conscious of that and we’ll keep working the same way.
Will it take more than 90 points to win the league?
100%. Yes I do.
You’re on for that now
Yeah but I don’t want to do too much calculation, it’s just how we’re going to prepare Manchester United and play well to win. But if you ask me about the points, yeah it’s happened in the last few seasons so it will demand almost perfection.
