Marc Roca became the latest to join up with Leeds United this summer as he put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Elland Road. The Spaniard is Leeds’ third signing since the end of last season and after signing a four-year deal with the Whites, he is secure until the summer of 2026.
That’s one of the longest contracts at the club, with new recruits Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen the only players tied down for longer, having signed for five years from Red Bull Salzburg. Patrick Bamford, Dan James and Illan Meslier are the only other members of the Leeds squad in possession of contracts running for another four years or more, and that certainly gives an indication about how highly Roca is thought of.
The Whites are expected to make more signings over the coming weeks and months, but they’ll also be making decisions on those entering the final year of their contracts, too. Luke Ayling is amongst the most high profile men on that list as the four-year deal he signed in 2019 approaches its expiry.

However, according to reports elsewhere, it seems Leeds are confident of extending his contract at Elland Road and they may well be keen to secure the promising talents of Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville for longer, too. The club do have the option to extend Adam Forshaw’s contract by another 12 months should they see fit and that puts them in control of his immediate future.
Elsewhere, calls must be made on the futures of Kiko Casilla, Leif Davis, Mateusz Bogusz, Max Dean and Stuart McKinstry.
There has been plenty of speculation about the futures of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips this summer, with the pair regularly being linked to some of Europe’s biggest clubs. They are both contracted until the summer of 2024 and that ensures Leeds are very much in the driving seat.
