James Tarkowski's Bosman signing from Burnley last week remains Everton's only major addition to Frank Lampard's squad and their transfer window has yet to begin in earnest.
They have also lost Richarlison to Tottenham after the Brazil forward made it clear he wanted to leave Goodison Park. As well as working on more signings, Everton are fighting off interest in Anthony Gordon and Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in the winger.
The Blues want to ward off this unwanted interest in Gordon by agreeing a new contract and Lampard and director of football Kevin Thelwell have much work to do. Mirror Sport has rounded up the latest Everton transfer news and rumours.
Belgium striker race
Caught Offside carry a report from Gazzetta dello Sport claiming Everton have joined the race for Bruges' Belgium striker Charles de Ketelaere. Everton need a new forward to replace Richarlison and Bruges are willing to cash in on the highly-rated De Ketelaere for around £25million. Leeds have told Bruges they are willing to pay this sum plus another £6million in add-ons, while Milan and Leicester are also keen. De Ketelaere, 21, would prefer Milan over Leeds because the Whites were nearly relegated and he may view a potential move to Everton in the same light.

Toffees stuck on Lingard
FootballFancast claim Everton are one of a host of clubs keen on England winger Jesse Lingard. Lingard has quit Manchester United on a Bosman and is exploring lucrative options from the MLS. Everton want to keep him in the Premier League and are keen to discuss terms with his team. West Ham, where Lingard enjoyed a successful loan spell during the 2020-21 season, would love to re-sign him and the wideman will not be short of offers this summer.
Gordon not for sale
Everton have ruled out selling Anthony Gordon according to reports. Newcastle and Tottenham are keen on the winger, who was one of the Blues' few stand-out performers as they narrowly avoided relegation. Everton have reportedly slapped a £35million pricetag on Gordon, but The Athletic said the Blues will not entertain any offers. He says they are focused on tying him down with a new deal to reward him for his success last season.
