Everton land late blow to hand Liverpool dramatic derby setback

Everton Liverpool Martin Sherif Elijah Gift Fabian Mrozek Jack Butler U18 Premier League North

Everton struck a dramatic late equaliser to prevent Liverpool from securing a memorable victory in the under-18s derby.

Martin Sherif struck his second goal of the game in the 90th minute to earn the Blues a 2-2 draw in the U18 Premier League North clash at Kirkby on Saturday afternoon.

The result means Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's young Reds - who earned an FA Youth Cup victory at Port Vale in midweek - have now gone five league games without a win while Everton, managed by Leighton Baines, are unbeaten in four.
