Netflix has released a chilling trailer for the new horror series about the bloodcurdling crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer.
The disturbing two-minute clip shows snips from Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which was created by American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy and stars Evan Peters.
Evan, 35, who has cut his teeth playing other murderous characters in AHS, has been praised by fans for his portrayal of the serial killer known as the Milwaukee Cannibal.
In the trailer, which was released on the official Netflix Twitter account on Friday, Evan is seen walking down a corridor with a male companion - who is instantly disturbed by the smell of Dahmer's apartment.
He then walks past a power drill, which was dripping with blood - as Evan locks the door behind him.
In another scene, he can be seen deeply inhaling over a lifeless body slumped over a chair.
In the video, which has reached 500k views, Evan also forces a woman to eat a sandwich filled with cooked human flesh.
In another scene, he is seen trying to force a dead body into a suitcase, before sitting down at a table to eat what looks like an organ.
Netflix tweeted: "Over the course of 10 powerful episodes, DAHMER shines a spotlight on the as-yet untold stories of Dahmer’s victims, the people who tried to stop him, and the systemic failures that enabled him to continue his murderous spree for over a decade."
The limited series follows the story of the notorious killer who murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991 before he was finally arrested.
Alongside Evan, the series will star Richard Jenkins, Penelope Ann Miller, Niecy Nash, Shaun J Brown, and Colin Ford.
Niecy plays Glenda Cleveland, Dahmer's neighbour who notices his strange behaviour and makes efforts to try and report him to the police.
Speaking previously about the role to Variety, Evan said: "I've read so much, I've watched so much, I've seen so much, and at a certain point, you've got to say, 'All right, that's enough'.
"There are beautifully written scripts. You can have all the backstory you want, but at the end of the day we're not making a documentary.
"It’s more about maintaining the idea and the through line of why you’re telling the story and always having that as your guiding light," he added.
While some were impressed by Evan's transformation into the eerie killer, other viewers hit out at Netflix for "glorifiying" Dahmer.
"Utterly disgusting! Why would we give him any more fame. Let's talk about the victims and how the families are struggling with the loss of their loved ones," one wrote.
But another replied: "If you actually read the reply you would see the focus is on the victims and systematic failures that allowed him to keep on killing."
DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will be available to watch on Netflix on September 21.
