Reality television star Eva Marcille is facing a legal dispute with the homeowners association that oversees her Georgia home. The association is seeking more than $22,000 (£16,900) in unpaid fees and fines for alleged property maintenance violations. The lawsuit against the former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta claims that she failed to meet landscaping rules and left items in public view without approval at her property in Alpharetta, Georgia. According to legal documents obtained by celebrity news outlet TMZ and details reported by Realtor.com, the homeowners association claims Marcille ignored repeated notices about an unkempt lawn, overgrown weeds, broken-down vehicles parked in the driveway, and dustbins left in view. Marcille’s attorney and husband, Michael T. Sterling, confirmed the legal dispute in statements to media outlets. He said he would fight the lawsuit and challenged the association’s right to impose large financial penalties over minor issues involving the appearance of the property.
