European football's governing body Uefa on Saturday said it had lost confidence in the Fifa boss Gianni Infantino after world soccer's ruling organisation abandoned plans to sell a stake in the commercial rights to the World Cup.
Fifa's proposals – championed by Infantino – had triggered a backlash from regional confederations who said they were unaware of the plans to raise up to €3.4 billion by selling a 20 percent stake to private investors in a new unit that would run Fifa events, including the men's and women's World Cup.
