There is one very lucky lottery player out there this morning after it was confirmed that last night’s staggering EuroMillions jackpot was won by a UK ticket-holder.
The winner has landed an eye-watering prize of over £171m, bagging the third biggest lottery win of all time. They are the sixth person in the UK to have won the EuroMillions jackpot this year.
An anonymous UK winner bagged a record-breaking sum of £195m in July , while a couple celebrated a huge win of £184m earlier this year in May. Players have been urged to check their tickets to see if they have joined the leagues of these overnight multi-millionaires.

If you still need to check your ticket, here are the winning numbers from Friday’s (September 23) draw: 14, 15, 22, 35, and 48. The Lucky Star numbers were 3 and 8 .
Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “What an amazing night for one UK ticket-holder who has scooped the giant £171 million EuroMillions jackpot.
“This winner has just become the third biggest National Lottery winner of all time and the sixth UK EuroMillions jackpot winner this year alone. Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”
The ticket-holder will follow in the footsteps of this year’s five other EuroMillions winners in the UK - most of whom have decided to remain anonymous after scooping the life-changing money. They include someone whose numbers came up on a £54m jackpot in June, and the winner of £109m back in February.
