KIERAN Tierney's Scotland teammates have expressed their "devastation" at him missing the upcoming Hungary game.
The Arsenal left-back, on loan to Real Sociedad, left Wednesday's Scotland-Hungary game on a stretcher around an hour in clutching his hamstring after falling on the pitch.
He was reported to be on gas and air after the incident, and Steve Clarke confirmed widespread fears that he would not appear against Hungary in Scotland's last group game.
After the game, midfielder Kenny McLean said: "It's devastating, honestly. We know how big a player Kieran is for us.
"Hopefully, on Sunday, we will be more fleet of foot with the ball and that's where he really comes alive, driving out with the ball.
"He was outstanding in the first half for us tonight. Hopefully, it's not too bad for him.
"We will see what KT's injury is, hopefully, it's not too bad.
"He's on a bit of gas and air so he's not the easiest to talk to just now but fingers crossed for him because he's a massive part of us."
McLean said Scott McKenna could fill his role, but that the loss of Tierney's talent for at least the next group game would be painful for the team.
Steve Clarke said the team would assess whether Tierney could come back if Scotland passes the group stage.
Tierney has faced hamstring injury in the past, including a 2023 stretch that saw him out of play for 54 days.
Previously in the year, knee surgery kept him out for 98 days.
