(Picture: Getty Images)Eton College has apologised after it was reported that girls from a visiting state school had been subjected to racial and misogynistic.
The school told the BBC that a number of pupils have been sanctioned after they jeered girls from a nearby state school during a speech by Nigel Farage.
Going further, the college said it apologises "unreservedly" for the "totally unacceptable" behaviour.
Mr Farage also said that the atmosphere at the Windsor private school had been “riotous”.
The apology came after a parent of one of the visiting girls said the students were booed while inside the lecture theatre.
Writing on social media, the parent said the girls were subjected to “racial slurs” and “generally misogynistic comments” before adding: “Their behaviour was awful.”
The school, which charges more than £40,000 a year for boarders, counts Boris Johnson, Prince William, Prince Harry and David Cameron among its alumni.
