Ethiopia captures Tigray capital as its regional rivals meet in Egypt

Ethiopian federal forces have regained control of the Tigray rebels' regional capital, local sources said on Sunday, while Ethiopia's regional rivals gathered in Egypt to discuss the risk of a wider war.

The capture of Mekelle, capital of Tigray, deals a major blow to the opposition alliance that rules the northern region.
