Estate’s Price Swings: Robert Taylor Ranch moves from $45m ask to $12m auction; later resells for $18.7m

The 112-acre Robert Taylor Ranch in Los Angeles' Mandeville Canyon went from a $45 million asking price in 1990 to a $12 million auction sale in 2012. The property was once owned by actor Robert Taylor, and included a 34-room, 11,700-square-foot estate and extensive lawns, wooded hillsides and former equestrian facilities. The Los Angeles Times reported that a Chicago buyer purchased the ranch at auction after 12 bidders competed for the property.
