ESPN’s Pat McAfee Blisters Ryan Leaf After Criticism of Lee Corso

Last weekend, Washington State head coach Jake Dickert took issue with ESPN’s Lee Corso for calling the Cougars’ game against Oregon State a “No One Watches Us Bowl” and blaming the network for helping to tear apart the Pac-12.

“It’s well documented what ESPN has done to try and get our league into where it’s at,” Dickert said. “I would love to have a conversation with Coach Corso about the value that he sees in breaking up the premier West Coast conference.”

Additionally, former Washington State quarterback Ryan Leaf traded barbs with Kirk Herbstreit over the same Corso comments.

That all led to the latest update in the saga, which included Pat McAfee inserting himself into the mix Saturday morning by going after Leaf and any upset Washington State fans.

“Ah, who cares?! Who cares?!” McAfee screamed when the broadcast’s discussion topic turned to Washington State. “So when they sucked, you guys were showing them every single week on the biggest college football show? Wow, handle success, Ryan Leaf.”

Both McAfee and Desmond Howard chimed in on Washington State, joining Corso and Herbstreit in this strange feud. The No. 16 Cougars are now 4–0 on the season and are looking for their seventh winning season since 2015.
