ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky Says He’s Heard Bill Belichick Will Join New Team in 2024

The chatter about Bill Belichick’s future with Patriots has increased as the losses continue to pile up in New England.

On Sunday, the Patriots (2-8) recorded their third consecutive loss and their eighth of the season behind a late-game interception by quarterback Mac Jones and a fake clock spike-turned interception from backup signal caller Bailey Zappe. While Belichick has not spoken much about his future in New England, his frustration with the franchise is visible.

Over the weekend, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that people close to the Patriots’ organization would be betting on a "mutual parting of the ways" with Belichick at the end of the season.

On Tuesday, during an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky said he has heard similar rumors about Belichick in the last week.

Orr: Bill Belichick Doesn’t Need to Go, but He Does Need a GM Forced on Him

“I have heard that,” Orlovsky said, of Belichick's potential departure from New England. "I've heard more and more of that over the past week. I'm not a reporter, all that stuff, but I have heard that."

Orlovsky repeated that it was just what he was hearing, and could not be sure how real the possibility of Belichick leaving New England was.

“I have heard that’s going to be the case," Orlovsky said. "Who knows the likelihood of it, but I’ve heard that’s going to happen. I’ve heard the location is already kind of determined as well."

When McAfee asked which team he had heard Belichick could potentially move to, Orlovsky refused the question.

"I'm not giving... I've just heard that," Orlovsky said.

Currently, New England sits at the bottom of the AFC East as the Patriots enter a bye week. New England returns to action on Nov. 26 in a road game against the Giants.
