Escape to the Chateau's Dick and Angel give new show details after series end

Escape to the Chateau stars Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have delighted fans with details of their new show. Channel 4 viewers were left devastated when the couple confirmed that the ninth season of their popular series aired in December was the last.

Dick, 63, and Angel, 44, explained that part of their decision to end Escape to the Chateau was for family reasons, as their two children were getting older and they wanted to "protect" them from the cameras. They are parents to nine-year-old Arthur and Dorothy, eight.

However, they have a new spin-off show in the works, which is set to air on Channel 4 later this year. The husband and wife shared an update on their return to screens with their followers on Instagram, reports the Express.

Production company Two Rivers Media's head of popular factual Lizi Wootton has said of the new show: "We are thrilled to continue to bring the escapism, aspiration, warmth, accessibility and fun, which is the beating heart of the Chateau series, to the travel genre.

"As Dick and Angel go beyond the chateau's gates their unique ability to seek out the unexpected and uncover the extraordinary will combine with their innate sense of adventure to unlock the secrets of France."
