Performers Ben Nicky and Horse Meat Disco are among the latest dance music stars to join the impressive line up for a music festival heading to Swansea's Singleton Park this summer. The Escape Swansea beloved music festival is making a welcome comeback on Saturday, August 20 and is set to be "bigger and better" than ever before - with some 10,000 people set to fill the crowds.
Escape Swansea, full name 'Escape Into The Park,' was well-known in the late '90s and noughties for bringing top DJs and musicians to Swansea every year - until its shock hiatus. Then, after a decade without Escape, it emerged from the ashes and made an epic come-back last September, before an announcement at the start of this year confirmed it would be back this summer too.
Organisers confirmed some of the acts that will be performing at the event earlier this year. In an announcement in February, they said Sub Focus, Dimension, Bru-C and Eddie Halliwell were among the stars set to take to the stage, as well as special appearances from Eksman, Harriet Jaxxon, Hazzard Higgo, Hype, IC3, K Motionz, Judge Jules, Audiofreq, Lisa Lashes, Shugz and Will Atkinson. You can read more about that here.

Now, organisers have confirmed even more names for the big day - including Ben Nicky, a popular dance/electronic music DJ from Bristol, and cult favourites Horse Meat Disco. They join already announced stars including Hannah Wants, Sub Focus (DJ set) and Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago, as well as Lisa Lashes, Cally & Juice, Bru-C, Harriet Jaxxon, Friction, Dimension, K Motionz, Glen Horsbourgh, Higgo, Eddie Halliwell, Billy Gilles, Richard Earnshaw, Shocker, Ridney, Tom Brownlow, Andy Whitby, Queen B, Faze 2, Francesco Zeta, MKN, Roger Sanchez, Neil Navarra, Will Atkinson, Shugz and Audiofreq.
Tickets are still available for the one-day festival. Third release tickets are priced at £49 plus booking fee (£54.15). People can pay this in one lump sum or in three monthly payments, with a deposit of £10 or £20 here.
Also coming to Swansea this summer is Swansea Pride 2022. The festival, which celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and raises awareness of LGBTQ+ issues in the city, last took place in Swansea in May 2019 - you can see a collection of our best photos from the event here - and will predominantly take place this year on Saturday, April 30 2022.
Most of the festivities will be based at the National Waterfront Museum and Museum Green in Swansea city centre, but additional events are expected to take place in other locations too. Full details are expected to be shared nearer the date, but so far organisers have confirmed there will be a parade on Wind Street at 11am, followed by a festival and stalls at the National Waterfront Museum and Museum Green from 12pm to 7pm. The event is free to attend and is taking place in partnership with Swansea Council, the National Waterfront Museum and Jermin Productions.
