KOCHI: Ernakulam on Thursday reported as many as 7,055 Covid positive cases as 18,236 samples were sent for testing.
Among the fresh cases, 5,063 were infected through contacts and the source of infection of 1,958 people was unknown. As many as 32 health workers have also tested positive for the virus.
As many as 14,478 people recovered from the disease on Thursday while 3,049 were placed under quarantine in houses. At the same time, the quarantine period of 7,673 people ended on the day.
Currently, there are 64,140 patients undergoing treatment at hospitals and at houses. The control room received 160 calls including 85 fromthe public. Counseling services were provded to to 3,718 people.
Meanwhile, 7,347 doses of the vaccine were administered on Friday. Of these. 1,324 were first doses and the rest 3,837 were second doses. As many as 2,186 booster doses were also administered on Thursday.
