Erling Haaland tells Man City what they must do in title race with Arsenal

Erling Haaland has urged Manchester City to 'relax' in the title race and not to pay too much attention to poor results as things can quickly turn around.

City have been playing second fiddle to Arsenal all season in an exciting battle for the Premier League crown but can turn the tables on their rivals on Wednesday. The two sides will clash for the first time in the league at the Emirates in a match that will have huge ramifications for the rest of the season.

Should Pep Guardiola's side emerge victorious they will move above the Gunners on goal difference and have the race in their hands ahead of the second match in April. Haaland has told his teammates what they need to do.

“The Premier League is a tough league and a tough competition," he told City's in-house media. “Every game counts so much and when we lost against Tottenham, we were out of everything - and now suddenly we are in it again.

“We have to take it game by game and relax a little bit.”

While Haaland is delighted with his remarkable 31-goal haul this season, silverware is the only thing he is aiming for at City.

“It is not normal [to score 25 goals already] of course, but I knew this team is used to scoring 100 goals a season, so for me as a striker I knew I would come in and score goals,” he continued. “My goal is to win trophies. Right now, we cannot think too much about what might happen in May, and I think we have to take it game by game – but win the game on Wednesday, that is my goal."

The game will see Haaland come up against his international teammate Martin Odegaard, a player he is ecstatic to see playing at his full potential.

“He is such a good footballer and finally he is getting his full potential out,” the Norwegian added. “He is showing the world how good he is. That is really fantastic to see.”
