Riyad Mahrez urged Erling Haaland to sign for Manchester City when the pair met on holiday last summer.
Haaland was linked with a transfer last year, but opted to stay at Borussia Dortmund with a view to leaving this summer. City won the race to sign the Norwegian forward, and he was finally unveiled on Monday with all formalities completed.
The 21-year-old has a family connection with City, with his dad captaining the Blues 20 years ago, but it wasn't just his close circle urging him to swap Dortmund for Manchester, as Haaland revealed the role Mahrez played in convincing him.
