Erling Haaland praises Arsenal after scoring in Man City win

Manchester City star Erling Haaland said that Arsenal have been the best team in the Premier League so far this season following his side's 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

A cagey start in the opening 20 minutes was brought to an abrupt end in the 24th minute as a misplaced pass by Takehiro Tomiyasu was latched onto by Kevin De Bruyne who did excellently to then lift the ball over Aaron Ramsdale to give his side the lead. City looked as though they would go into the break in front but those hopes were dashed when Ederson conceded a penalty for a foul on Eddie Nketiah.

After a substantial wait, Bukayo Saka sent the Brazilian the wrong way to bring the Gunners level. The game's flow was stunted in the second half due to fouls but City had their advantage back through Jack Grealish in the 72nd minute.

A slick move by City ended with Ilkay Gundogan finding the winger who scored a slightly deflected effort. Ten minutes later, Haaland wrapped up the points with a swing of his right leg.

Speaking afterwards to Amazon Prime, the Norwegian explained that Arsenal had been the best team in the league so far. "Yeah of course we can all agree they have been the best team this season," he explained.

"To come to their place and to play against them is not easy but we played an amazing game and we have got the three really important points."

When asked what the celebrations were like in the away dressing room at full-time, the 22-year-old added: "It was so positive. Happy celebrations right up to now and I am so happy of course because I won against Arsenal but I am just so happy with everything and we needed this one. Now we have to start going on a run because that is what Manchester City should do."
