Manchester City star Erling Haaland has made history by becoming the first player to be named both the Premier League's Player and Young Player of the Season in the same campaign.

The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund has had an incredible first season at City. The 22-year-old has scored a remarkable 52 goals in all competitions.

Haaland's incredible season at City continues to see him claim personal accolades. He has become the first player to be named both the Premier League's Player and Young Player of the Season in the same campaign

“I am honoured to have become the first player to win both awards in the same season – thank you to everyone who voted for me," Haaland told City's website.

“It has been an incredible first season in the Premier League and lifting the trophy last weekend in front of our fans at the Etihad was a very special moment for me.

“These awards would not have been possible without my amazing teammates, the manager and all of the staff at the club who help me perform on the pitch. Now we have two more finals to go and we want to finish the season strong.”

For the Player of the Season award, Haaland's City teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, Arsenal pair Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, Manchester United's Marcus Rashford and Newcastle United's Kieran Trippier were the other nominees.

For the Young Player of the Season award, Saka and Odegaard were again nominated, as was Arsenal teammate Gabriel Martinelli. Brighton & Hove Albion pair Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo were also nominated, as were Newcastle duo Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.
