Erling Haaland remains an injury doubt for Manchester City's next two games but will be ready for the visit of Burnley in the Premier League at the end of January.
The striker this week returned to training, along with fellow absentee Jeremy Doku, ahead of the start of City's FA Cup defence against Huddersfield at the weekend.
Pep Guardiola will not risk Haaland against the Championship side, but it is better news for both Doku and Kevin De Bruyne.
Guardiola told reporters: "They are training with us for the last two to three sessions, Jeremy feels really, really good, Kevin as well. We have to be patient with Kevin and give him the right minutes.
"Erling is a little bit better, it's a bone [injury] so we have to be careful. He's done two to three sessions and felt good after.
"I don't know [if they will be fit for Sunday] or Newcastle [on January 13] but hopefully for the rest [of the matches] they will be ready."
