Manchester United have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to reports.
After sanctioning moves for nine players in his maiden season at the helm, United manager Erik ten Hag wants to land at least two major recruits during the upcoming window. Manchester Evening News understands that a new central midfielder and prolific long-term striker are high up on his shopping list.
However, depending on what happens with £80million captain Harry Maguire - who the club are open to sell - the Premier League giants could also target another centre-back when the transfer market reopens. Guehi has been mooted as one possible option in that regard.

Guehi, 22, progressed through the academy system at Chelsea and moved to Palace on a permanent basis in 2021 after impressing on loan. He has been capped three times by the England national team as he continues to earn rave reviews for his performances with the Eagles.
With three years to run on his contract, it could take a hefty fee to prize Guehi away from Selhurst Park.
Elsewhere, Sevilla are reportedly keeping tabs on Donny van de Beek with a view to swooping for his services during the summer transfer window. The same article suggests the La Liga club also have their eye on loanee Alex Telles as well as Sweden captain Victor Lindelof.
Van de Beek signed for United from Ajax coming up three years ago now, and his inability to command regular starts has been well-documented. The player is currently side-lined with a knee injury which will see him out for the remainder of the season when speculation over him will return to the agenda.
