Erik ten Hag has promised Manchester United supporters "there will be no complacency in our desire to return this club back to where we want to be".

United ended a trophy drought that had strayed close to six years with victory over Newcastle in the League Cup final and Ten Hag is the eighth manager to have secured a major honour in the club's history.

It is all but certain to be a successful season for United, they are third in the Premier League, in the last 16 of the Europa League and host West Ham United in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday.
