Benjamin Sesko’s stock rose on Wednesday after his winner for RB Salzburg in a friendly against Liverpool.
The attacker has been linked with a Manchester United move. The 19-year-old netted 10 times and provided seven assists last season and already has two goals in two games this term with the Austrian season already underway.
Erik ten Hag is looking for attacking reinforcements this summer, regardless of whether Cristiano Ronaldo stays or leaves. Many supporters have called for him to nab Sesko if he can get him for a lower price than the £55million his club values him at.

The player revealed last year that his teammates liken him to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, due to his height and powerful attacking drive. But Ten Hag may be more interested in his agent’s comments from March 2021.
Speaking to Zurnal 24, Elvis Basanovic described his client as a “very hardworking, humble and nice guy." His former youth coach also outlined how he had the right mentality from an early age.
Ales Meznarsic oversaw the development of Sesko while he was in the youth ranks at native Slovenian outfit Domzale. Explaining the forward’s industrious mindset, he said (via FirstTimeFinish): “We did a lot of practices for developing technical skills in our training.
“We also did several individual sessions with Beny which were based on finishing from different situations. Lucky for us he was very hard working and he wanted to train sometimes even more than others.”
This will be music to the ears of Ten Hag, who underlined that he requires his players to put in nothing less than maximum effort. Speaking about Jadon Sancho earlier this month, he reiterated what he expects from his squad members.
He said: “I look to the player and I have a certain demand. It is not just in terms of Jadon, it is for every player. I will tell every player what I expect of them.
“I have high standards because you are here, you are playing for Manchester United, then you must bring every day on the pitch. That is an expectation I have."
Sesko’s eagerness to strive for improvement will please Ten Hag, and could well be a factor in whether he indeed decides to go for him before the end of the window.
