Fortnite season three is coming soon, and it looks like Epic Games is cooking up something big for the multiplayer game’s next map. The official Fortnite Twitter account posted a short video teasing “The Wilds,” a new update set to launch on June 9, 2023, and it certainly lives up to the name.
The short trailer shows a lush jungle with a broad river winding through it. Fog rises off the water, while the sunlight glints and dances on its surface and casts reflections on the surrounding flora. There’s a tent pitched on the riverbank and a sign that looks like it’s pointing out where to find a rubber tube for sailing, while a large, stone fortress looms ahead in the distance.

That’s it for the official tease, though Fortnite leakers found something else: a loading screen that shows new skins and suggests a collaboration with Transformers, if the little robot fella depicted in the image is anything to go by. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts launches on the same day, so a crossover would make sense.
Some leakers suggested Epic has another world-ending map change in store for the new season, though that seems less likely. Epic typically reserves these showstopper events for the end of full chapters – not the start of a new season in the same chapter.
Whatever the case, the general consensus among leakers is that the new season will include an Optimus Prime skin, raptor mounts that tire out after awhile, and new biomes – a desert, a volcano, and, naturally, the new rainforest area.
