We've entered the final 48 hours of the transfer window and the footballing world are still on tenterhooks for the business that could still be completed. Unsurprisingly Chelsea could be at the centre of a great deal of that action, despite having already spent more than £200million this month.
The Blues have signed seven players with all but Malo Gusto added to Chelsea's ranks immediately, but despite it being a more precarious period of transfer action the club have added talent for the future in Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos. Some of those players will have an immediate impact but all are 22 or younger.
The balance between providing for now and the future has been present in all of Chelsea's business since the summer. Enzo Fernandez may embody that more than most.
