Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park, is set to receive a $105 million private gift from energy infrastructure company Tallgrass, marking the largest single private contribution in the history of the US National Park Service. Announced on October 19, 2026, the funding will establish a permanent Conservation and Stewardship Fund to support scientific research, improve visitor facilities and give more students and community members opportunities to experience the iconic American wilderness. The initiative brings together the National Park Service, Yellowstone Forever, the park’s official nonprofit partner, and Tallgrass, a portfolio company of Blackstone Infrastructure. The money will be directed towards three priorities, including a new visitor centre at Norris Geyser Basin and long-term programmes to expand access to the park for Wyoming students and families.
