Police have charged a man from Blundellsands as part of their Encrochat investigation.
He has is the latest person to be charged with drug offences as part of Operation Venetic - the investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices to carry out crimes. Charlie Stanton, of Merrilocks Road has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, conspiracy to supply heroin and conspiracy to supply cannabis.
The 25-year-old was arrested yesterday, on Monday, April 25, and after his arrest, a 'significant quantity' of cash was recovered from a separate address.

Stanton was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today, Tuesday, April 26. Operation Venetic has involved European law enforcement agencies working with the NCA and supported across the UK by police forces and Regional Organised Crime Units.
The operation came about after law enforcement officials in Europe managed to crack the ‘encrochat’ service being used by criminals involved in serious and organised crime to carry out their business. As of last year, around 60,000 users of encrochat have been identified worldwide, with about 10,000 of them in the UK – all involved in coordinating and planning the supply and distribution of drugs and weapons, money laundering and other criminal activity.
